1) 7 Tank process
Powder coating is an organic dry finish coating powder coating is a dry finish coating that takes place in 7 steps that are also known as 7 tank process.
Powder coating is actually a 7 tank process that starts with decreasing the surface of aluminium that helps to clean the surface. In another step, aluminium is cleaned by water and then acid to clean the surface. Again it dipped in water to clean the surface purely. After this cleaning process, the aluminium is dipped in zinc phosphate. This process is known as the zinc phosphating process. When the surface of aluminium is done by the zinc phosphating process, it is again clean by water then the last achromatising process takes place. After following these 7 tank steps the surface of aluminium is ready for the actual powder coating. This process is not followed by many companies to make it cheaper. If this 7 tank process is not done properly then it affects powder coating finishes and makes it less durable.
In the powder coating process, the powder that we use is electrostatically charged. Then this powder is sprayed on the metal surface with the help of a spray gun. After spraying the powder properly on the surface metal it is placed in an oven at around 200 degrees that make the surface build a permanent coating.
2) What is Anodizing?
Nowadays people prefer anodizing and powder coating for their aluminium frames. Both coatings are organic and inorganic finishes that give a smooth coating.
Anodizing is the electrolytic process that offers fresh smooth coating, especially on aluminium. This coating gives a thick oxide coating that helps to make the surface resistant. When the surface is rough or having scratches, professional designers advise anodizing because at the end of the process we get a durable and smooth surface. Anodizing is simply the process of improving the surface of the metal and makes it more valuable. In the process of anodizing, the first step is to remove all scratches and dullness of metal. Then they again remove the dust properly by dipping in acid. After the process of cleaning aluminium is dipped in sulfuric acid and an electric current is passed through it so that it is able to produce a thick oxide coating which is known as anodizing. Anodizing process basically transforms the surface of aluminium in a smooth and clean way and their shine attracts visitors.
3) Difference Between Powder Coating & Anodizing

4) Process of Powder Coating & Anodising
These both are organic and inorganic finishes that make the surface new and resistant. Anodizing and powder coating have different processes and benefits. . In the process of anodizing, the first step is to remove all scratches and dust of aluminium. This process is called buffing which is mainly used to clean the aluminium surface. To complete the process of anodizing it is very important to clean the aluminium first that is why we dip the aluminium in acid to clean it properly. After the process of cleaning, Aluminium is dipped in sulfuric acid and an electric current is passed through it that produces a thick oxide coating which is known as anodizing. This process is also known as electrolytic passivation. Anodising not only produces a thick oxide layer but is integrated with an aluminium surface.
On the other hand, powder coating produces a layer that is protective and decorative. Powder coating takes place in 7 tank processes to complete the powder coating effectively. This 7 process is key to produce a perfect powder coating on aluminium. First, we need to decrease the aluminium for better cleaning. After cleaning they clean with water and then with acid. This helps to clean the aluminium in an effective way. Again it should be dipped in water and after the cleaning process, we use the container of zinc phosphate to dipped or clean the aluminium in it. After this process, it should be again clean with water. In the end, the aluminium surface gets chromodise. With the help of all these seven processes, the surface is ready for the final task powder coating process. The powder which is used in the coating process is charged electrostatically. This powder is sprayed on the surface of the aluminium to complete powder coating.
